Lydia-Mary is a changemaker fighting against violence directed towards children. Together with her sister, she has co-authored a book based entirely on children rights violations.
In Nigeria children are victims of different forms of abuse. With her project, Lydia-Mary wants to raise awareness towards the rampant child abuse and violence within the Nigerian society, focusing on sexual abuse and child labour. She wants to hold 3 workshops addressed to children and to adults in which children can learn how to speak up for themselves and adults can learn about the importance of children rights. The workshops will include a presentation on children rights and their importance and will also have a session of Q&A. Lydia-Mary also wants to distribute printed handouts to participants in which various cases of children rights violations are highlighted and the importance of speaking up is mentioned.
